Kathy Sterbank uses scientifically proven techniques to get reliable performance of complex tasks under challening conditions from all the dogs she trains. Her methods are based on positive reinforcement, and follow the principle of using the least intrusive, minimally aversive technique possible. At all times she adheres to the codes of ethics set out by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
Kathy earned a Certificate in Training and Counseling and Certificate in Dog-Dog Aggression from the San Francisco SPCA's Academy for Dog Trainers. Run by Jean Donaldson and known as the "Harvard for Dog Trainers", the Academy combined a thorough grounding in learning theory and behavior analysis with hands on training and counseling practicums. She holds a Masters Degree in Education from the University of California, Berkeley.
